The leaves are changing this fall – and so is the Ortho Rhode Island Spine Team. Dr. Akshay Yadhati, a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon, joined the team in October, and is now accepting new patients at Ortho Rhode Island’s Providence, Warwick, and Smithfield offices.
Dr. Yadhati specializes in the operative and non-operative care of degenerative and scoliosis-related conditions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. His primary goal is to improve patients’ function and day-to-day quality of life, employing nonsurgical measures like physical therapy, medication, or injections before considering operative interventions. His unique specialization in deformities of the spine adds another important dimension to Ortho Rhode Island’s comprehensive approach to spine care.
“Our approach here,” Dr. Yadhati stresses, “is to – no matter what – try and get you more functional, and to try and get you back to getting through your activities of daily living, back to your hobbies, back to enjoying your time with your loved ones.”
