Beginning September 8th, 2020, Ortho Rhode Island will expand their effort to keep Rhode Islanders active and healthy, when Dr. Nathan D. Howlett joins the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Team.
In addition to treating sports-related injuries – a role he performed as a team physician for Boston University athletics – Howlett specializes in arthroscopy, arthroplasty, and cartilage restoration in the shoulder and knee, including treatment for rotator cuff and labrum tears, total an d reverse shoulder replacement surgery, ACL reconstruction surgery, and partial and total knee replacement. His approach is centered on restoring quality of life by returning patients to their pre-injury activities.
Howlett’s arrival at Ortho Rhode Island contributes to a group of sports medicine physicians with extensive experience and involvement in the local community, as they are the Official Team Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Providers for the University of Rhode Island, and the Exclusive Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Partner of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League. He will see new patients at Ortho Rhode Island’s Wakefield and East Greenwich offices, and has operating privileges at South County Hospital and Kent Hospital.
