In another big stride for Ortho Rhode Island’s innovative orthopedic care, Dr. Jason Tartaglione is helping pioneer Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) for foot and ankle patients in Rhode Island.
With MIS, Dr. Tartaglione performs common orthopedic foot and ankle surgeries using small, minimally invasive incisions in conjunction with special techniques and instruments. If a patient is a good candidate, MIS can be used to treat a variety of foot and ankle problems, including big toe arthritis, bunions, and hammertoes. These procedures, which utilize x-ray guidance, allow for reduced soft tissue damage, faster recovery, earlier mobilization, and less post-operative pain.
This new, minimally invasive approach is part of Ortho Rhode Island’s commitment to providing better outcomes and an outstanding patient experience through innovation. Other leading-edge treatments offered by Ortho Rhode Island include robotic-assisted total joint replacement and spine surgery, as well as biologic medicine with Ortho RI Biologics.
