WILLIAM TAYLOR, MS, OTR/L

Will specializes in orthopedic care of the upper extremity and custom orthotic fabrication. Will developed his passion for hand therapy through his Level I and Level II clinical rotation at Ortho RI in Warwick where he gained and furthered his experience in custom splinting and surgical and non-surgical intervention with Ortho RI’s hand therapy team. He was drawn to Ortho RI due to the collaborative environment between the patient, therapist, and doctor that helps the patient efficiently and effectively restore function and independence. Will holds certification in LSVT BIG for Parkinson’s Disease and the Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist certificate for stroke patients. He also plans to pursue his Certified Hand Therapist certification.

Will graduated with an Associate and a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from New England Institute of Technology. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, Will worked in various settings for four years including acute care, long-term care, and orthopedics in a non-traditional correctional facility. He is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Rhode Island Occupational Therapy Association, and the American Society of Hand Therapists. Throughout his years of experience in varying settings, Will has learned and become professionally proficient in Spanish.

When not working with patients, Will enjoys exercising, hiking, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
