While the past year presented unique obstacles for orthopedic providers, Ortho Rhode Island continued to innovate to push orthopedic care forward for patients. This month, Dr. Robert Marchand was highlighted in the cover story of the latest issue of the Rhode Island Medical Journal. The story detailed his key role in training orthopedic surgeons around the world in leading-edge robotic-assisted joint replacement techniques, which he performs in partnership with South County Health.
Throughout the pandemic, Dr. Marchand continued this practice through VSOs – Virtual Surgical Observations – which stream procedures live to other providers globally, including in China, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, India, Australia, Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, Norway, Austria, Ukraine, Austria, Germany, France, Romania, Italy, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Canada.
