Dr. Lisa Harrington is board-certified in Rheumatology and Lifestyle Medicine, with expertise in nonsurgical arthritis management and a passion for building long-term relationships with her patients. Through these meaningful connections, Dr. Harrington works to help manage and potentially prevent chronic illnesses, and to manage related lifestyle issues pertaining to nutrition, exercise, and more. She treats adult rheumatic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, systemic lupus, polymyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and rheumatica vasculitis.
Dr. Harrington’s experience is supported by extensive training. She earned her medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine, and completed her internal medicine internship and residency at Northwestern University in Chicago. Following her residency, Dr. Harrington practiced internal medicine at the University of Texas in San Antonio, where she also served as Clinical Assistant Professor. She also completed a rheumatology fellowship through a Boston University combined program, training at hospitals including Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Rhode Island Hospital.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Harrington brings similar passion to hitting the waves for swimming and waterskiing, and to staying active in mind and body through reading, walking, tennis, and pickleball.
