Dr. Travis Blood obtained his medical degree from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, graduating Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Brown University. Following residency, he continued his training with two additional fellowships: one in Trauma Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital managing acute complex orthopedic trauma injuries,and another in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery at Harvard University as part of the Harvard Combined Program, where he trained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Blood is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who cares for a variety of conditions of the upper limb, including sports-related injuries, arthritis, and compression neuropathies, with special interest in acute upper limb trauma and post-traumatic reconstruction of complex injuries of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. During his residency at Brown University, Dr. Blood received several awards such as Most Valuable Resident Physician, Consultant of the Year, and the prestigious Haffenraffer House Staff Award for outstanding commitment to patient care and leadership.
When not seeing patients, Dr. Blood enjoys spending time with his family, especially his energetic daughter, as well as playing golf, playing ice hockey, and traveling.
